What is 2 Step Authentication?

2段階認証でセキュリティを向上!

2 Step Authentication is a security measure to protect customers from unauthorize use by using SMS(text message) or E-mail aside from au ID and password when logging in with a smartphone or personal computer.

We provide the following methods for using the 2 Step Authentication
Either of the method is applied depending on the purpose of usage.

One-time URL

An authentication method using URL with one-time validity.
When logging in using your au ID and password, the URL is accessed from the mobile phone for the authentication.

How to obtain a one-time URL is as follows.

Obtain an authentication URL by SMS(C-mail)

SMS (C-mail) with the autentication URL will be sent to the au or UQ mobile phone with registered au ID during authentication. Click authentication URL in the SMS (C-mail), please verify the information of the device to log in.

ワンタイムURLのSMS(Cメール)が届かない場合、 SMS(Cメール)で受け取ったワンタイムURLの代わりに、バーコードを読み取って認証用URLにアクセスすることができます。

※ご利用には、最新のMy au アプリが必要です。

Confirmation code

Validation method using a one time valid confirmation code.
Upon entering the au ID and password to log-in, the confirmation code will be sent to the phone number or contact e-mail address that is registered in the au ID.
Enter the confirmation code in the two-factor verification screen for authentication.

<Notes on 2-Step-Authentication>

・If you receive SMS (text messages) with「au ID 2-Step-Authentication」without logging in with au ID or using the Easy Payment, please do not click the URL.
Possibility of third-party access of your au ID/PW by clicking the URL. Immediate change of password is advise.
Or click「2-Step-Authentication」from the side menu and delete devices unknow devices.

・For customers who are not able to receive SMS, please make sure that SMS(text messages) function is not restricted. For iPad users, please insert SIM card capable of receiving SMS(text messages).

・If you cannot receive e-mails, please check if the e-mail address is correct.
  And if the e-mail address is correct, there are possibilities of the things below, so please check.

・Incoming mail is rejected through settings in「auto@connect.auone.jp」

・Distributed in spam mails folder or trash can.

・Exceeded the limit of storage of the the mail BOX or server.

・Late receiving of mails due to the condition of provider`s transmission.
